Catholic Church and Penalties for Priests

I agree with the parishioners of the Catholic Church who don't want the present day attenders to have to pay for the sins of the clergy going back an unlimited number of years.

I think it's an awful can of worms to sue the Catholic people for the sins of their priests for any number of years. But if several come forward and are judged credible in their accusations, those priests should be defrocked and denied their pensions and they should be punished.

However, an articulate liar could sue the church and want to see a priest in jail just for the hope of monetary gain. Anybody can accuse someone of molestation when there are no witnesses and no other victims. Therefore the monetary incentive to accusations should be removed.

Accusers should come forward for justice alone --not for monetary benefit.
