A Proposed Revolution

The answer to your question is 'none.' That's why we need a revolution to really shake up our government.

And, the purpose of the revolution is? Why should citizens sacrifice their life, families, and wealth to make a revolution? How does the revolution began? What kind or type of revolution will it be?

Delacrox and 'up the flag' is definitely romantic, but how will it win the day?

It will be bloodless and quick. We will round up all right-wingers and libertarians and put them in boxcars...

Tell me this was not serious, MR. Previously you suggested detainment camps.

The boxcars will be used to transport the political subversives to their final holding facilities (many of which are conveniently located near rail lines). In early 2006 Halliburton subsidiary Kellogg, Brown and Root was awarded a $385 million dollar contract by Homeland Security to construct detention and processing facilities. Find the FEMA camp near you provided in the below link.

NIce you could visit, Rev. Bigdumbchimp! I know what you are referencing there --and it is remarkable --that the heart beats and beats and beats --and you aren't even plugged in !! So laugh away! it's really amazing more than humorous!

Barb said...

My husband says it is the sinus node that keeps the heart beating --but why? how? what powers it?

Anonymous said...

"My husband says...."
Barb, do some bloody research of your own and use your brain to understand things.
And yes, the heart is amazing!! Actually understanding it (and any other form of biology) will make it more so!

kateb said...

Actually in posting the sinus question on the blog and opening for comment, would - uh - actually be research as many have knowledge that others don't have.

But maybe not everywhere I guess??

That was just a weird comment.

How else do people gather information, you talk to other people - if that fails maybe go to the library? Some internet sites are fairly reliable too...but people predominantly network with other people for information. There are even cave drawings from a long time ago that different tribes commented on in their travels.

As a matter of fact drawings found in the Chauvet Cave are supposedly dated 30k years ago and are rudimentary communication and sharing of written information.

Barb said...

Ausdan, my POINT is that no matter how much you understand the mechanics of the body --or the heart's--you cannot really account for our existance. We can finagle life in the lab but we really cannot create it --we cannot make a brain or a heart --even if we can simulate or aid their functions with man-made components. We cannot account for our brain's so-called "evolution" or its marvelous capacities --any other way than by a designer --like our God. We can do a LOT, but we are doing it by design. nothing so complex and marvelous as human beings "just happens." There is genius behind our functions.

By the way, we are on the wrong thread --but that's ok with me--except for trying to find it later.

These folks have come over from another blog where Darwin was the topic.

Anonymous said...

Barb,
Just because we can't reproduce it (a 'heart' for example), doesn't mean that a process such as evolution made it isn't true!!

kateb I am indeed from another blog, which Barb has been posting on. I wrote it because, while I'm sure she's a smart woman, her following questions "...but why, how, what powers it" show that there was no follow up research of her own, because all of these answers are known.

If god designed us, he did a terrible job.

Jeanette said...

God never does a terrible job. He designed it and people have lived many years with their same hearts. No one has been able to make an artificial heart that will last as long as the original heart in healthy people.

I found the sinus comment to be interesting and may look it up or just take it at face value because Barb's husband is a doctor and I'm sure he knows what he's talking about.

Barb, let MR go. Don't allow him the power to invade your blog by posting his rants. This just gives him a wider audience and it's best to let him roll in the pigpen of his thoughts with his regular visitors.

This is just friendly advice as I can't tell you what to do even if I wanted because you are a very independent and strong-willed person. ;)

kateb, have you been to Israel yet? I would love for Barb to post a guest piece from you about that trip, including photos.

If you wish, Barb can give you my email address and I'll be happy to post it on my blog with photos and all. I'm fascinated with Israel and love it so much.

I don't share my blog name here because some people I would not want commenting on my blog due to language would start hanging out there to make trouble. I do censor language but I'm not at the computer every minute of the day.

If you do email me please put "From Kateb" in the subject line so I can rescue it from spam.

kateb said...

Hi Jeannette. No, I've had to cancel my trip. But my folks are going and will bring back photo's and a journal. Barb has my email address and contact info. Feel free to email me and I'll send on the trip info as soon as they get back. They leave at 8 a.m. tomorrow.

I also have a prayer request for a recent Muslim to Christian convert. His name is Jamal and he's trying very hard to discern what God has in mind for him.

As far as our grand design, that was a silly statement.

The average human heart beats approximately 42,075,904 times in one year. The current life span in America (from the CIA handbook) is 77.5 to 80 years.

Taking the lesser, that means that the average heart in the U.S. today beats 3,260,882, times, driven by electricity which is generated with an organic internal supply.

If that doesn't impress you go ahead and design your better mouse trap.

I'm perfectly satisfied and amazed by my body. Which was perfectly designed, by the grand designer himself.

kateb said...

3,260,882,560. Sorry I had to paste from my calculator and lost some digits.

That's 3 trillion plus times. Trillion......trillion :-)

Anonymous said...

Your 'designer' DID do a terrible job - and of course many people do not live for years with a good hearts (just ask barb's husband :-)). Our human bodies are full of other short comings too..for example short sightedness, the pelvic structure which makes child birth very dangerous (due to our walking upright) etc etc etc. Plus, what do you think of people born with abnormalities - missing limbs, brain damage etc. etc.
OHHhhhh, that wasn't god... or if it was - he had a plan!! Give me a break.

And yes Jeanette, Barb's husband IS right! I never said he wasn't!! I'm just amazed that there were (logical) following questions by Barb, which she never bothered to research to answer herself. Not understanding something does not = Goddidit.
Have I said that we are trying to make hearts in the lab? No! Evolution has had billions of years to do that. You saying that because we can't do it is evidence for god is clearly ridiculous and based on your human-centric view of the world.

Jeanette said...

Ausdan, There is a saying that there are none so blind as those who will not see.

You, Ausdan, are one of those blind. Who caused it? Not God.

kateb said...

Ah well there you have it. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink.

My job stops at the introduction of the water.

Anonymous said...

Great comeback guys!!! You have really argued your cases well. It has really showed the level of your clear thinking and intelligence. (yes.. all sarcasm there).
By the way, I was raised a catholic ...so you have NOT provided the "water for the horse." Since then, I used my logic, common sense and intelligence to realise that it was all a load of rubbish!! Never again will I let any religion tell me how to act and what to think. That is my definition of intellectual blindness.
It's so sad to imagine your closed, closed minds, I can do nothing but laugh or cry, so I chose to laugh.

If I had thought you were actually searching I would have engaged you in debate, but you already have your mind made up and nothing I say is going to change it.

Don't get angry just because we do not wish to play in your playground of self-absorption.

kateb said...

It is certainly not a Catholic teaching that you are so entitled that you can demand that others explain to you and defend the Word that you had the same access to as the people you demand obey you.

There is not one above another. If you choose to laugh at us so be it. It is said that in heaven the last will come first. And I'm great with the idea of you laughing at me. It's like an insurance policy.

Thanks :-) You've brightened my day.

You guys really are funny. You are clearly ignorant about biology and what research has shown us. It's not like I know nothing about christianity but claim I don't believe it. Do you still think the earth is flat? No? Oh, because science has proved otherwise. Do you really believe the sinus node regulates the heart's beat? How come? Because science has told us. Before you knew that, I bet you would think it was because god made it do so. The more you learn, the more you realise the world you live in. This does not necessarily preclude a belief in god, but you CANNOT ignore the facts of life.

kateb's comments make no sense at all. That is one first sentence! I don't want anyone to obey me - I just hate ignorance and yes, you should defend what you believe in!! If your belief can't even withstand rational discussion then it's not worth much.
I don't get the last bit either - "It is said that in heaven the last will come first. And I'm great with the idea of you laughing at me. It's like an insurance policy.". Umm... WHAT!?

I heard that I was the 'subject' of another post here at Toledo's best homophobic blog. I am popular here; it's quite a thrill.

Looks like I'm awfully late, though: 19 comments before I arrived.

Johnnypeepers- great links and facts. Facts are always important.

Reverend- good laughs!

Ausdan- you are wasting your time here; note the single 'comments' of Peepers and the reverend. If you were looking for any substance, any hard facts here, you've arrived a the wrong blog.

This is the "I Believe" blog. One must wear ruby slippers here while holding tightly to an ancient diary.

If you aren't properly 'dressed' here, your comments will remain only speculation.

Good luck and enjoy the laughs.

kateb said...

Sorry ausdan - I assumed by the Catholic reference and your desire to bait Christians you would have some knowledge of the Bible.

My bad :-)

Matthew 19:30 specifically but Matthew 18 is the lead in.

kateb said...

And I think it's funny they think the boxcars are for us.

Anonymous said...

mud_rake - I don't know what I'm doing here. At first it was curiosity, but I couldn't actually believe what is discussed here and found it amusing to see what would happen when some logic was introduced - quite addictive! Although I only got the bible quoted at me, so it gets boring quite quickly. Then I read some other posts, and the homophobia actually made me feel quite sick, so this is my last post. As such, I will end it with a bible quote - in true barb wire style. Now I'm off to have sex with my father (well... the bible says so!)

Genesis 19:31,36

Come let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father. And they made their father drink wine that night; and the firstborn went in and lay with her father, and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose. And it came to pass on the morrow, that the firstborn said unto the younger, Behold, I lay yesternight with my father, let us make him drink wine this night also, and go thou in, and lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father. And they made their father drink wine that night also, and the younger arose, and lay with him, and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose. Thus were both the daughters of Lot with child by their father.

Barb said...

Yes, I know that story. Lot and his family were saved because of God's Covenant with Abraham. Lot was Abe's nephew. They had lived in a wicked city --and it apparently rubbed off on them.

The Jews didn't leave any unflattering history out of their Bible. the Book does not say God condoned this incest. The story suggests the women were desperate for offspring and that if Lot were sober he would have known better. Lot of course is the one who also offered his daughters to the men who wanted to do his male angelic visitors --rather than be inhospitable.

Just keep in mind, Lot's only saving grace is that he is related to Abraham and thus God sent the angels to warn Lot to leave the wicked city--for the sake of Abraham's covenant with God.

Barb said...

Nice to see you, Mudly --but you still didn't assure me that you were not serious in your comment about boxcars --making light of the holocaust as Rob pointed out at your blog.

kateb said...

you don't know what you're doing here? That is comical.

You, as have a couple of others, have come here to bait and antagonize Christians because they believe something you haven't authorized them to believe in.

You're a member of the great entitled class. No tolerance for others.

That's why you've come here. To mock other people. It's a cheap way to blow off some steam I would imagine.
