When I read the following, I was appalled at what Elena Kagan did regarding partial birth abortion in the Clinton administration. Even liberals should be appalled. If our Congress appoints her, they are nuts. She amended the opinions of the medical societies about partial birth abortion not being necessary to save the life of any woman. NO NEED TO KILL A BABY WHOSE BODY IS DELIVERED ALL BUT FOR HIS HEAD WHICH IS THEN CRUSHED! Bring the baby out alive if an early delivery is deemed necessary in the 3rd trimester.

If our senators approve this woman, they have no respect for life, ethics, honesty, or the law.

It was little surprise that President Obama would nominate someone to the Supreme Court with as limited regard for the U.S. Constitution as himself. However, the radical political and liberal history of Elena Kagan should make even the most diehard Leftist take a step back.

The recent Senate hearings helped expose her disgust for traditional morality, free speech, the military, individual liberty, unborn children, constitutional fidelity, and all things religious. As a political appointee to President Clinton, she was so fixated on protecting partial-birth abortion that she masterminded an effort to substitute her own opinion for that of two medical groups. Both the American Medical Association (AMA) and American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) said there was virtually no instance in which a partial-birth abortion was necessary to save a woman's life. When that statement crossed Kagan's desk, she personally changed it to say that partial-birth abortion "may be the best or most appropriate procedure in a particular circumstance to save the life or preserve the health of the mother."

The political and unscientific opinion inserted by Ms. Kagan into what was supposed to be an authoritative medical document was then cited by several judges to strike down restrictions on the horrendous partial-birth abortion procedure.

Additionally, her pro-homosexual views led her to restrict military recruitment on Harvard Law School's campus, and, as Solicitor General, to sabotage the defense of our federal marriage law and of the current military policy on homosexuals serving openly in the U.S. military. In these instances, she favored her personal ideology and political calculations over the law. Without your help, she may spend 30 or more years doing this same thing as a member of America's most powerful court. Elena Kagan was unfit to be Solicitor General, and she definitely doesn't deserve a lifetime promotion to the U.S. Supreme Court.

NW OH Planned Parenthood --No Abortions in their Annual Report?

Planned Parenthood's Year in Review tells us they served 6,294 patients in Toledo, 14,976 visits at their 2 health centers, 2,630 Pap tests, 2,138 Depo Prevera injections, 301 Nuva Rings, 100 IUD's, 2,616 HIV tests, 50 walk in Teen Clinics -- and 4,658 clients participated in education programs in 2008.

but how many abortions did they do or arrange? Nary a word!!! Seems they have finally got the message --that if they want public support, they better be quiet about their abortion record.

Granted, if you read farther, you saw this paragraph:

We have defeated all of the amendments proposed so far that would make comprehensive reproductive health care less accessible for women and we have been promised by our pro-women's health friends in Congress that they will not support prohibitions on abortion coverage.

Abortion Doctor Loses license Over Murder of Fully Born Baby

Clearly abortions or at least late-term abortions aren't just bad for the baby and the mother. They apparently have a Nazification effect on the people who perform the procedure.

Chrissy called this morning. She had slid a long way in her car -- though going only 30 mph on her way to her teaching job at school. She tried to just steer without braking, but it got worse, so she put the brakes on and then fishtailed wildly, landing in a corn field on the opposite side of the road, going the opposite direction. She said she felt numb in her hands and feet and ears at first and wondered what that meant. Wondered if it was shock. Her father said a neck x-ray might be good. The numbness didn't stay with her --so far. She called while still on her way to school. There was only one Jeep anywhere in sight --and it resumed driving when it saw she was back on the road. So, thankfully, no cars to hit.

She said she called out to the Lord, "Jesus, help me, help me, Jesus!"

I'm so glad she knows Him by faith to call upon Him.

Maybe she needs better tires. She slid into a car a year or two ago on those country roads.

Thank you, Father, for protecting and sparing our girl. We can imagine and share the sorrow and feel the devastation of any who lose their children, through accidents or war.

How can anyone abort these precious ones, missing the joy of knowing their own children? They have no idea what they've missed, whom they've terminated.

When Chrissy was coming, we wondered if we could possibly love no.2 as much as we loved Baby No. 1. When no. 1 was coming, I was in disbelief as I hadn't been around pregnant people much and couldn't imagine it for myself. I wasn't opposed to it; I just couldn't imagine it. I felt I had a condition, more than a baby. It wasn't something I was dying to have happen to me!

Way too many young people today are thinking that way--that other people's children look like a pain to raise--and a lot of work --and who would want to raise those howling, whiney kids? and who would elect pregnancy? But they have no idea what it will be like for them. It's amazing what parenting does to stretch the heart and soul (never mind our bodies!) We shouldn't recommend abortion to anybody --nor even allow it --1.6 million American babies per year--the biggest holocaust in the world.

When those babies came to our house, we knew in a new way what it was to be a family. We were now parents together, bonded forever through these children. It enriched our marriage and enlarged our hearts and our social world. We will have 11 people (at least --maybe more if my brother would come up and bring my mother-she usually celebrates with his in-laws) at the dinner table for Thanksgiving --8 are there because we married, had kids, and they married. Our own social niche and support network --interesting, enjoyable people who enjoy getting together.

I'm sorry for those whose marriages fail. God hates divorce and the damage it wreaks upon the abandoned ones. Family is both strong and fragile --it takes a commitment to Christ to help cement the bonds --and the ability to forgive and practice Golden Rule living in the home. Jesus shows the way--the light to the home. And He is the comforter to those with broken pieces, the mender of the heart, who can take sadness and replace it with joy.

CATHOLIC ARCHBISHOP ADMONISHES GOVERNOR OF KANSAS

Last Friday's Kansas City Star reports that Archbishop Joseph F. Naumann of the Archdiocese of Kansas City has told Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius that she should stop taking communion until she repudiates her support for abortion rights. In a column in The Leaven, the official newspaper of the Kansas City Diocese, Naumann indicated that his latest concern was the governor's April 21 veto of the Comprehensive Abortion Reform Act passed by the Kansas legislature. He wrote:

Since becoming archbishop, I have met with Governor Sebelius several times over many months to discuss with her the grave spiritual and moral consequences of her public actions by which she has cooperated in the procurement of abortions performed in Kansas.... I wrote the governor last August requesting that she refrain from presenting herself for reception of the Eucharist until she had acknowledged the error of her past positions, made a worthy sacramental confession and taken the necessary steps for amendment of her life which would include a public repudiation of her previous efforts and actions in support of laws and policies sanctioning abortion.

Recently, it came to my attention that the governor had received holy Communion at one of our parishes. I have written to her again, asking her to respect my previous request and not require from me any additional pastoral actions.

Many writers condemned the Church for bothering the Governor, trying to impose church on state.

MY REPLY:

The archbishop is saying abortion is homicide. He's saying the governor is a disgrace to her church and disobeying God by trying to be on both sides of the fence, expecting the Catholic vote. In fact, the church may not allow her to be on both sides of the fence. They could excommunicate, I suppose. He's at least really scolding her publically for all the church to hear the message.

Indeed, he is telling all the Catholics to vote and live their faith and quit being liberal about the moral issues. He's suggesting to all the church that they not support such candidates just because they have the label, "Catholic."

Granted, so many of the priests are charlatans and I would hope their pro-life support is sincere and not a cloak for, or distraction away from, the closeted homosexuals and pedophiles among their clergy.

The archbishop is trying to get Catholics to consider that their choices and beliefs have consequences --because that's what he believes, what THEY believe, and what the CHURCH teaches. And I agree with them.

Consequences: she should not have the Catholic vote for her pro-abortion stand. She can go to Hell for her unconfessed sin --for disagreeing with God about what is right and what is wrong. The church says the babies are fully human and therefore have a 'right to life' --which right the constitution also recognizes for all human beings.

The issue is the civil law as much as the church law. Do we want our nation's laws to protect life and stand for right against wrong or not?

The church stands for right --we are to be salt and light in the society. That's why the church RIGHTLY seeks to influence legislation and law. If we, the salt, lose our taste, our "saltiness," we lose our "preservative" quality --we fail to save humanity.

The Governor is part of the church --and she has lost her salt! The church rightly rails against such members --and probably ought to kick them out to bring them back to repentance--before God bars their entrance to Heaven. This IS serious. It's no mere threat of dire consequences (as some commentators have said.)

Senators Debate Stem Cell Research Funding

C-Span featured Feinstein, Kennedy, Brownback and others on stem cell research today. Kennedy was most divisive, blasting Bush for previously vetoing federal funding for this questionable project. A typical, grumpy, obnoxious, divisive, disrespectful, missing-the-point democrat.

We ALL need to call Sherrod Brown (our democrat senator) and remind him this is not about the research itself but about funding it with federal dollars. We have no business funding this research any more than we should be funding abortion itself. Both are legal by current laws, but neither should be supported by public funding.

Let democrats make donations for both abortion and the private research projects of their choice. There IS such research by people hoping to make a killing on stem cell remedies, but don't make ALL of us support this dubious technology which could lead to cloning ourselves and killing our genetic twin/clone to replace our bodyparts. This is MAD science. What if the clone or your spouse decides YOU should be replaced by your younger clone? Defenders of Senate Bill 5 say this is not about cloning, but there IS a question of what madness such research could produce and whether or not God would even allow us to benefit.

MOst success in stem cell research and therapy has been with our own adult stem cells. Also ethical in research is the use of umbilical cord cells.

Contrary to popular opinion, CONSERVATIVES ARE NOT, BY OPPOSING THIS LEGISLATION, VOTING TO STOP ANY AND ALL STEM CELL RESEARCH --JUST FEDERAL FUNDING for any research which kills innocent life. So far, no one has moved to make any such research illegal, that I know of. Conservs and Bush just refused to fund any research on viable, so-called excess embryos--who could be implanted and survive. Such embryos ARE "whos" --potential people--and so far there is less potential for remedies from their cells than from adult stem cells from one's own body.

We need to put tax dollars into research that has the most potential for good. The conservative senators told us about many research projects for cutting edge remedies that do not kill one person to help another.

EMOTION'S ROLE IN PRO-LIFE DEBATE

I recently had someone pose me the question, “Why would anyone want to be a liberal? There’re wrong on nearly everything, and they’re always so miserable.” The answer: it is easier to be liberal than conservative. You can almost hear the voices now; “it…is…not…. It’s hard to… be concerned... about the bunnies.” Well, sorry to burst your bubbles, but it isn’t hard. In fact, there’s nothing hard about being a liberal – excepting the occasional hair pulling every time a conservative makes a fool of you in front of others. I know that you liberals feel bad when that happens, and this leads me to my first point. To be a liberal, one feels instead of thinks.

My grandfather was a professor/minister/school administrator. I remember him saying that emotions are a God-given aspect of humanity --and appropriately used to move us to action. He preached with a volume range, slow, deliberate choice of words --and was often moved to tears as he preached. Powerful preaching DID make people want to confess their sins and get right with their Maker. And the experience can be life-changing for good.

Someone commented on the above blog that both sides use emotion--as in the Pro-life debate. But she ignored the facts behind the emotions.

E.G. Photos of The tiny fetus, the little hand wrapped around the doctor's finger, as it reached from the womb in a fetal surgery case, the pictures of aborted fetuses --they are pictures from reality --that pack an emotional wallop. It's a fact --abortion kills a helpless tiny person.

Re: abortion --the Left appeals to emotion about the FACT of a young innocent rape victim who gets impregnated. But the liberals' sad fact is much less frequent than death by abortion and there is no jusification for abortion on demand for all ages, for all circumstances, for convenience sake --or because a man doesn't want to support a child he made.

The fact of the pictures used by pro-lifers, should be the more compelling argument.

We should ALL agree that since birth control is available, since abortion kills life, there is NO excuse for abortion for convenience sake. We should be arguing only the issue of a possibility of abortion for rape, incest, life of mother. Convenience abortion is indefensible by any fact-based or common sense reasoning.

And the FACT is that partial birth, 3rd trimester abortion, is never necessary. If the woman can't carry to term, she should deliver --if she doesn't want the child --adopt out. There is NO justification for crushing a skull and suctioning out the brain in a 3rd trimester abortion. It's grisly murder --and that's a FACT --not emotion. But no wonder that many ARE emotional about it --and rightly so. These are babies who could survive with today's technology. We usually want to save life --what about this third trimester procedure? Doesn't matter, a knee-jerk liberal HAS to support abortion without reservation.

The Abortion Battle Rages On

Liberal dem--I don't get any of my comments right out of magazines --unless I attribute to them.

You are being very judgmental to say i don't care about kids after they are born. And wrong. Your bigotry and vitriol are leaking out for all to see.

I don't really get ANY magazines that are primarily about "pro-life" --a couple of news bulletins in the mail now and then. I don't even read them often because I know the position. However, we do read occasionally in conservative press about the deaths of women in abortion clinics. I told you before, but you deleted it, about my young friend in Angola who wanted to back out of her abortion after paying $600 to the clinic --and they forced her on to the table and forced her to go through with the procedure. If I knew a good lawyer.....

FAR FEWER women sought abortions when it was illegal --so overall, fewer died then, than die now from being aborted. and there were more shotgun weddings as boyfriends didn't have an alternative to kill the child --many of those couples stayed together and made good marriages.
I think we've killed 40 million so far.

And don't tell me pregnancy is more dangerous to women than abortion --not so with the one for one breast cancer rate.

Watch LD delete me --He posts his own prejudicial garbola as truth, and very little that disagrees with it. He wants a totally consistent liberal point of view on his blog --without challenge or exception. Except when he has time to try to persecute me. But sometimes, he's at a loss for words and then deletion is easier.
